Oystercatchers at Bunche Beach

 Friday July 30th

Its been awhile since I've last visited Bunche Beach.  Been waiting for favorable tides, at a favorable time of the day, which is a low tide at the coolest time of day. Gets too hot this time of year

American Oystercatcher

Checked it out the other day and it was nice to see several American Oystercatchers and Marbled Godwits. My first sightings in Lee County this year of these species. Other birds included Reddish Egrets, Snowy Egrets, lots of Willets, Sanderlings and Short-billed Dowitchers.  Plus Piping Plovers, Semipalmated Plovers and a few Spotted Sanderling, Western Sandpipers, Least Sandpipers, Ruddy Turnstones, Wilson's Plover, and a couple of Black-bellied Plovers. Still looking for common terns and black terns though.
